Going pretty green

Don't you agree, going green doesn't need to be boring?

Last Friday was Wear Less Day at Queensbay Mall where the air-conditioning system was increased from 24°C to 25°C because apparently, a one-degree increase in temperature can save up to 3% of energy per year. So shoppers were encourage to dress down for the weekend.

Come on! Dress down?

How can I possibly dress down? So I dress down but glam up for Wear Less Day.

This was my green pick for a casual Friday - Esprit from head to toe.

Gifts for him: Man in white

We call him prince charming because he always suits up in the latest fashion. And you'll never catch him in something out of trend.

He is the man every man wants to be and he is the man ever girl wants to be with. And if you ask if I'm one of those girls, I'd never tell but all I can say is that... he is a great friend.

Anyway, it was his birthday last weekend and I went on a hunting spree for his gift at Queensbay Mall. When I saw these hunks at Quiksilver, I knew I had to get them for him. They are the reflection of his personality.

And the best thing about white? It's timeless, just like our friendship.

Fashion Haul: UNIQLO at Queensbay Mall, Penang

Surprise! Surprise!

Maybe not so much of a surprise anymore... Last weekend, most Penangites went a little ga-ga over the grand opening of the first UNIQLO store in Penang.

Me included.

If you don't already know, UNIQLO is a Japanese designer, manufacturer and retailer that offers high-quality casual apparel in line with its new rebranded tagline "LifeWear". To date, UNIQLO has more than 1,100 stores in 13 countries.

It carries a great selection of basic clothing from sweats and hoodies to pants and leggings, jackets and cardigans to dresses and shirts, from innerwear and sleepwear to hats and sunglasses. From men and women to boys and girls.

So of course, I had to take advantage of the opening specials.

Don’t throw it out just yet: reduce, reuse, recycle

As we step into March, everything green simply sprouts!

In fact, going green is no longer a new eco-friendly campaign that can improve our living quality. It is definitely the best way to conserve and preserve our environment.

The very first step in the process is a small one: reduce.

Think before you buy: Do you really need it? And to answer that, you need to learn the difference between “I want” and “I need”.

I know it can be very difficult, especially for me... because I can never get enough of shopping. I have this big appetite for all things pretty! 

But, I've made a choice to do my part, however small it may be.

I've decided to check out Pinterest for ideas to turn trash into treasure and can you believe what I found?

Before you throw out that old dresser, create roll-away under-bed storage drawers.

Sometimes, we can't help but feel a little nostalgic... so turn the old suitcase into a vintage storage cabinet.

Turn your old jeans into a shopping bag, knitting bag or magazine bag.

You see... I'm a girl, so I naturally love fashion, food and fun (as Cyndi Lauper sang it - girls just want to have fun). And these are the sparkle and glitter that revolve around my life.
