Red is the new black this Chinese New Year

Every Chinese New Year, we see cities and towns and malls in Malaysia, or Asia in general - being painted red. Yes, red lanterns, red flowers, red vases, red couplets of warm wishes and red ang pows as decorative.

So come, saddle up and usher in the auspicious year of the horse with me... in pretty fashionable reds.

New Year, New Hair at X Private Hair Salon

Oh well, a new year is all about new experiences or adventures. And what better way to ring in the Lunar New Year with an evident memento - a new look!

I've been contemplating a wavy style for quite a while now, and fell for its effortless sexy and sophisticated edge. It's a major decision and change for me - having the chemical invade my virgin hair. But this is just the change I needed to feel refreshed and it has already given me the boost to ride the waves in 2014!

So, what do you think?

Fresh curls make me happy!

After all the fuss of worrying that the curls might turn out too curly or springy, or make me look overly matured instead of a sexy goddess, I must say... I'm pretty flabbergasted with the outcome. And I can finally make these pretty curls shine bright like a diamond.

If you're planning to change your hairstyle for the coming CNY celebration, talk to the Artistic Director, Edmond Yeow at X Private Hair Salon and watch him weave his magic through your hair - almost like a fairy godmother (but the male version) *wink*

Going back to school

It's been a week since school reopened and as kids head back to school, I'm feeling old and nostalgic. Maybe "old" is overrated, I'm still rocking it cool.

I'm not ready to settle for "young at heart". Not yet.

And if I were to relive my schooling years, these would be some of my back-to-school essentials. *wink*

and Backpack from Sanuk Bratpack

Pretty fix for bad hair days

You'd probably already read how much I treasure my hair to the point that my mane shine bright like a diamond. I give my hair pretty extreme nurturing because I love keeping it long and healthy.

My point is this: With all the festivities from Christmas to the partying into the brand new year 2014 and not to mention, all the late nights and hangovers... I need to get myself together again.

But for now, I've resorted to these pretty headbands as my go-to fix for all the bad hair days I'm having.
